Hodgson in France; Joly to make an announcement in Montreal Wednesday


Looking to Wednesday's events, in Paris, France, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Tim Hodgson (Markham–Thornhill, Ont.) will participate in the International Energy Agency 2026 Ministerial meeting and the Canadian Critical Minerals Forum from Feb. 18-20.

Minister of Internal Trade, President of the King’s Privy Council, Minister for Canada-U.S. Trade, Intergovernmental Affairs, and One Canadian Economy Dominic LeBlanc (Beauséjour, N.B.), Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food Heath MacDonald (Malpeque, PEI), and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Canadian Identity and Culture and Minister responsible for Official Languages and Parliamentary Secretary to the Secretary of State for Nature David Myles (Fredericton—Oromocto, N.B.) will hold a joint virtual call-back from Mexico.

In Montreal, Que., Minister of Industry and Quebec Economic Development Mélanie Joly (Ahuntsic-Cartierville, Que.) will make an announcement on the defence industry at the Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Montreal. 

In Whitehorse, Yukon, Minister of Northern and Arctic Affairs, and responsible for the Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency Rebecca Chartrand (Churchill-Keewatinook Aski, Man.), Minister of Crown-Indigenous Relations Rebecca Alty (Northwest Territories), Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Indigenous Services Ginette Lavack (St. Boniface—St. Vital, Man.), Yukon Premier Currie Dixon, and Council of Yukon First Nations Grand Chief Math’ieya Alatini will attend the Yukon Intergovernmental Forum. This event will be held at the Sternwheeler Hotel & Conference Centre, 201 Wood St. 

In Toronto, Ont., Environment and Climate Change Minister Julie Dabrusin (Toronto--Danforth, Ont.) and Ontario Premier Doug Ford will make an infrastructure funding announcement.

Still in Toronto, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Lena Metlege Diab (Halifax West, N.S.) will make an announcement related to immigration Express Entry categories as part of an address to the Canadian Club Toronto. 

In Calgary, Alta, Minister of Transport and Leader of the Government in the House of Commons Steven MacKinnon (Gatineau, Que.) will provide an update on federal efforts to strengthen Canada’s transportation network and supply chains at the Hyatt Regency Calgary, 700 Centre St. S.

In Edmonton, Alta., Minister for Women and Gender Equality, and Secretary of State for Small Business and Tourism Rechie Valdez(Mississauga--Streetsville, Ont.) and Minister of Emergency Management and Community Resilience and Minister responsible for Prairies Economic Development Canada Eleanor Olszewski (Edmonton Centre, Alta.) will announce federal funding to support Black-led businesses and entrepreneurs across Alberta at the Timbuktu Innovation Hub, 9442 118 Ave NW. Later in the evening, they will attend a fundraising event hosted by the Edmonton Centre Federal Liberal Association at The Lingnan, 10582 104 Street NW.
