Bill C-21, Standing up for Victims of White Collar Crime Act, was debated, read a second time and referred to the Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights.
NDP MP Peter Julian introduced a Private Members' Act, An Act to amend the Income Tax Act (hearing impairment). Bill C-577 was read a first time.
The Sixth Report of the Standing Committee on Finance, Bill S-3, An Act to implement conventions and protocols concluded between Canada and Colombia, Greece and Turkey for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income, was presented and reported back to the House without amendment.
Bill C-48, An Act to amend the Criminal Code and to make consequential amendments to the National Defence Act, was introduced and read a first time.
