The Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights presented its Thirtieth Report, Bill C-266, An Act to amend the Criminal Code (increasing parole ineligibility).

The Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development presented its Twenty-first Report, The Last Straw: Turning the Tide on Plastic Pollution in Canada.

A Conservative opposition motion put forward by Ed Fast (Abbotsford, B.C.), That, given that the carbon tax will not reduce emissions at its current rate and it is already making life more expensive for Canadians, the House call on the government to repeal the carbon tax and replace it with a real environment plan, was debated. 

NDP MP Alexandre Boulerice (Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie, Que.) introduced a private member’s bill entitled An Act to amend the Department of the Environment Act (greenhouse gas reduction action plan). Bill C-462 was introduced and read a first time. 

The Parliamentary Budget Officer tabled a report entitled Federal Program Spending on Housing Affordability.

The Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates presented its Nineteenth Report, Veterans: A Valuable Resource for the Federal Public Service.
