The Senate Standing Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology presented its Twentieth Report, Bill C-247, An Act to provide that the Department of Employment and Social Development is the main point of contact with the Government of Canada in respect of the death of a Canadian citizen or resident.

Bill C-2, Respect for communities Act, continued to be debated at second reading, was read a second time and referred to the Senate Standing Committee on Legal and Constitutional Affairs.
