The City of Ottawa will create new cycling facilities along Orléans Boulevard and Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard after an investment of over $5.1 million from the federal government. The federal government is investing $5,148,000 in this project through the Active Transportation Fund (ATF). The full release is available online. Liberal MP MP Mona Fortier (Ottawa—Vanier—Gloucester, Ont.) joined Stéphane Giguère, CEO of Ottawa Community Housing (OCH), to mark the groundbreaking of 200 Beausoleil, an affordable housing development in Ottawa’s Lowertown neighbourhood and one of the first projects advancing under the Government of Canada’s Build Canada Homes initiative. The Government of Canada is supporting the development through up to $63 million in combined funding, including investments from Build Canada Homes and Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC). The full release is available online.
